How Berg helped Hibi Health hire their first employee
Hibi is an app for families caring for children with additional needs and long-term conditions. We partnered with them for their all-important first hire
The challenge
After a successful experience through Entrepreneur's First, Hibi Health raised their first round of funding and were ready to expand! The first ten employees at any start-up have a huge impact on the company culture and so Sam and Uzay were determined to make sure their first hire what take them one step closer to fulfilling their mission.
The solution
Berg supported the founding team through the entire process. We began by helping them define what they were looking for by using an outcome-based approach to create the ideal profile.
We then reached out to highly capable candidates, conducted mountains of first-round interviews and provided them with a shortlist of three candidates within four days of receiving the brief.
Berg then supported the founders with subsequent interviews, helping them structure the process and the types of questions to ask.
Outcomes
Hibi successfully made their first hire within 30 days of starting the process
Do you need A-players at your startup?
The success of any start-up is dependent on the quality of the people working in that start-up. Both founders at Berg have experience, scaling start-ups. Jordan's first company (proSapient) went from 0 to 300 people in five years while Ben built Guidepoint's Greek office from 0 to 120 people in two years.
Start-ups aren't for everyone. We know what kind of people thrive in fast-paced environments and it would be a privilege to help grow your business.
